GLOBSEC 2021 Bratislava Forum

15 – 17 June 2021

LET'S REBUILD THE WORLD BETTER

GLOBSEC’s Bratislava Forum has established itself as the leading platform in the Central and Eastern European region and one of the top strategic conferences globally.

Hundreds of the influential political representatives, business leaders, experts from leading global think-tanks and NGOs, heads of international organizations, thinkers and innovators gather each year at GLOBSEC Forum to actively shape the future we want for us and the generations to come. Over the years, GLOBSEC's guests of honour have included Emmanuel Macron, Zuzana Čaputová, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, Kersti Kaljulaid, Jens Stoltenberg, John Allen, Ursula von der Leyen, Madeleine Albright, Donald Tusk, Joseph Nye, Timothy Garton Ash, Paul Collier and many other stakeholders.

TWO STAGES FEATURING OVER 100 TOP SPEAKERS
The 16th edition of the Bratislava Forum will take place on 15 – 17 June 2021. While adapting to the new reality of today's world affected by the pandemic, similarly to the 2020 Forum, this year's edition will again be held in a hybrid format, allowing our guests to participate both in-person and virtually.
In addition to the main sessions which will take place on two stages, the Forum will feature focused side events and brainstormings.

NOW, LET'S REBUILD THE WORLD
The world in 2021 will be considerably different to the world we know. Year two of the pandemic will be when we define the new normal and reboot the decade.

The global community will continue to grapple with the crisis that has revealed and intensified the already existing vulnerabilities of the international community. The new normal will be affected by the renewed power dynamics on the global stage as well as the economic recovery, renewal of democracies, security, trade and health. The new American administration will be key in determining the future of the U.S. on the global playing field and its relations with the EU as well as the rest of the world. A crucial issue that the global community of democracies will need to tackle is how to work together to deliver on the worldwide quest for better governance, free participation, and stronger rule of law. The question for Europe remains: what role should the EU play in the global arena and how it can use its regulatory power to mitigate the tensions and assert its influence globally?

To Build the World Back Better, we will have to find global solutions to global problems. Instead, it seems the international community is more fragmented and unpredictable than it has ever been.

GLOBSEC 2021 Bratislava Forum will search for common vision within 4 topical pillars addressing key areas that needs re-building after the crisis:
•    Democratic Renewal & Rebuilding of Trust
•    Economic Growth & Recovery
•    Global Europe in a Post-Pandemic World
•    Tech Governance

and 2 focused streams that need further attention in the post-pandemic world:
•    Security for 21st Century
•    Resilience in Health

We would like to share with you our first preliminary agenda. Please note that all timings, formats and sessions are subject to change if the context requires.
